Taking a design cue from its A5 sibling, the new A4 has the sleek styling associated with the coupe combined with the spaciousness and practicality of a saloon. Longer and wider than its predecessor, the new A4 has the longest wheelbase in its class, resulting in exceptional interior space including increased rear legroom and a bigger boot capacity.

The new A4's sporty character is very much apparent both inside and out but none more so than the parts you are unlikely to see. To enable the impressive outputs of the engines to deliver as effectively as possible, the new A4 sits on the longest wheelbase in the class, its front axle repositioned 154mm further forwards than in the existing car. Complemented by a new state-of-the-art suspension and steering configuration even more outstanding handling balance and agility is offered, which can be further enhanced in 3.2 FSI and 3.0 TDI models by the latest quattro four-wheel-drive system with 40:60 front-to-rear torque split.

Available initially in conjunction with a generous SE specification, refinements include:
